Nevada Droneport To Offer Part 107 Courses

Will Provide Students With Self-Paced Or Instructor-Led Options

The Aerodrome commercial droneport and teaching facility in Boulder City, NV has announced the introduction of Part 107 courses into its curriculum, to coincide with the release of Part 107. The courses will provide students with the option of a self-paced online course or a 2-day instructor led course providing test preparation for FAA certification.

“Certification under Part 107 provides the simplest path to operating a UAS for commercial purposes, and because of that, we expect this class to be wildly popular,” said Jonathan Daniels, president of The Aerodrome. “At Aerodrome, we don’t just react to what is, we’ve designed our company to prepare for what will be. Our education and training modules for certification under Part 107 are set to be among the first, best and most comprehensive offered in the industry.”

The Aerodrome’s teaching airport in Henderson (20 minutes for Las Vegas McCarran Airport) and the Eldorado Droneport at Boulder City (flight operations) will host instructor-led courses to prepare pilots for FAA examination under Part 107. Each two-day intensive program includes both classroom and hands-on flying.  The retail price of the instructor led course is $895 including all course materials.

Another option is the online self-paced Part 107 Bootcamp program which can be taken at any time or place in order to accommodate students work and life commitments. Also starting in June 2016 (pending release of Part 107 by the FAA), the online course retails for $299, providing individuals with licensed access for one year.

Coursework is written by experienced professionals with an understanding that each individual’s use of a UAS and need for training may be different. By assessing a students’ skills before each module, the program can provide the right amount of training for individual success. For companies currently flying under a Section 333 Exemption or those who have currently applied, Part 107 provides expanded flight operations in a quicker, more cost effective way.

Aerodrome owns and operates teaching airports and an online-education program that revolutionize Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) education. The commercial droneport provides training and prep courses for FAA certification testing that pilots and maintenance personnel will need to work in the UAS industry. In addition, it offers expert advisory and consulting services as well as facilities rentals, enterprise solutions and outsourced aviation service and repair.
