Let Your Smartphone Help You Through Your Instrument Oral Exam

App Has Over 450 Questions Geared To Instrument And CFII Certificates

The second in a series of apps from ASA is a new Instrument Pilot Checkride app based on the popular Instrument Oral Exam Guide book by Michael Hayes. Designed for pilots training for the Instrument Rating or the Instrument Flight Instructor (CFII) certificate, this app lists the questions most likely to be asked by examiners during the last step in the pilot certification process--the Practical Exam--and provides succinct, ready responses.

More than 450 questions and responses ensure all the subjects an Instrument Rating candidate will be tested on during checkrides and Instrument Proficiency Checks are covered. Compatible with iPad, iPad Mini, iPhone, and iPod Touch, this app teaches applicants not only what to expect, but also how to exhibit subject mastery and confidence when under the examiner's scrutiny. It identifies candidates' strengths, weaknesses, and gaps in their aeronautical knowledge, which increases study efficiency.

Once the app is installed on your device, no internet connection is necessary for study. Questions are organized by subject, to include flight planning, departure, en route, and arrival. In addition, questions can be marked for further study from any subject to build a collection of flashcards for focused study. An Applicant Practical Test Checklist, CFII Lesson Plan, and Instrument Proficiency Check Guidance document are also included.
