Minister, Family Removed From Continental Flight

Apparent Dispute Between Wife, FA

We're not quite sure what exactly happened Monday aboard a Continental flight at Houston's Bush Intercontinental Airport, but at least a few passengers were irked as a dispute involving the wife of pastor Joel Osteen delayed holiday travel plans for many.

Osteen -- known by many in the central US as pastor of Houston's Lakewood Church, said to be the country's largest congregation -- his wife Victoria, and their two children had boarded the flight to Vail, CO. The plane was preparing to back away from the gate when Mrs. Osteen allegedly became involved in a heated argument with a flight attendant, according to KVUE-TV, after a spill at Mrs. Osteen's seat wasn't cleaned up to her satisfaction.

"[Mrs. Osteen] failed to comply with the flight attendant's instructions and they were asked to leave the flight," FBI spokeswoman Luz Garcia said.

The flight was delayed approximately one hour while the family deplaned and airline workers retrieved their luggage. The Osteens caught a later flight.

The FBI -- which has three agents at IAH, although none were called to the plane -- has told airport officials the agency will not investigate the matter, saying it had already been taken care of after reviewing a brief on the incident.

A Continental spokeswoman declined to comment on the matter, other than echoing the FBI's sentiment it had been resolved.
