Says False, Misleading Statements About Crew Are False

Delta Air Lines and Endeavor Air wish to state the actual facts about the flight crew operating Endeavor Flight 4819 that experienced a collapsed landing gear during landing at Toronto Pearson Airport and ended up inverted on the runway.

No fatalities resulted from the accident but 21 people were injured who have now all been released from the hospitals where they were treated.

Delta said on its website that comments propagating incorrect and misleading assertions have been circulating online and other places and in response posted the following correct information:

The Captain: “Mesaba Airlines, a progenitor company of Endeavor Air, hired the captain in October 2007. He has served both as an active duty Captain and in pilot training and flight safety capacities. Assertions that he failed training events are false. Assertions that he failed to flow into a pilot position at Delta Air Lines due to training failures are also false.”

The First Officer: “Hired in January 2024 by Endeavor Air and completed training in April. She has been flying for Endeavor since that time. Her flight experience exceeded the minimum requirements set by U.S. Federal regulations. Assertions that she failed training events are false.”

Delta stresses that both crew members are qualified and FAA certified for their positions.

In a separate post on its website on February 20, 2025, Delta reported that the injured passengers were released and Delta CEO Ed Bastian issued the following statement: “The Delta and Endeavor families are grateful that all those injured Monday have been released from the hospital, and we extend our thanks to everyone who provided care to them over the past few days. We will continue to connect one-on-one with customers, employees and loved ones as we move forward to make sure their needs are met with care.”
