Lucky Customer Gets Free Poster with Purchase

Textron Aviation has tendered the 400th Cessna Citation Latitude business jet to Simmons Foods, an Arkansas company. Simmons Foods has been a Citation operator for a while now, using their Cessnas to manage operations across their entire footprint. To celebrate lucky number 400, Cessna handed off the aircraft with a fun little bit of wall dressing, a banner featuring the new plane to decorate the Simmons Foods hangar.

Latvian Man Extradited for Avionics Smuggling Scheme

Third Defendant Comes Forward in Several-Year Conspiracy

55-year-old Oleg Chistyakov was recently extradited from Latvia to Kansas City to face federal charges. He played a major role in an avionics smuggling operation, circumventing U.S. export laws to supply Russian customers. Chistyakov had two co-conspirators: Cyril Gregory Buyanovsky, aged 61, of and Douglas Edward Robertson, aged 56. These two men were both U.S. citizens and Kansas residents.

FAA Brings the Hammer Down on Unruly Passengers

43 More Cases Turned In For Criminal Prosecution

The Federal Aviation Administration recently turned in an additional 43 cases of ‘unruly’ passenger behavior over to the FBI. This brings their grand total to well over 300, which are all being reviewed for criminal prosecution. When airline crews experience a dangerous passenger, they are encouraged to report it. Then, the FAA performs an investigation to pin-point violations of the federal law or regulation. The agency, working alongside the FBI, forwards serious cases to their field offices for in-depth analysis and, in some situations, prosecution.

Signature Aviation announced the introduction of a new program known as BRAVO by Signature, a free membership program for small and medium-sized aircraft operators using Jet A fuel. BRAVO by Signature is focused on hospitality and has been in development for a year. It seeks to serve the shifting needs of one of the larger but often underserved segments in general aviation. Its development was tested with more than 800 small and medium-sized Jet A users who expressed a desire to take advantage of the benefits enjoyed by larger, enterprise-level operators and the relationships that go along with them.

Australian Airport Opens Hydrogen Refueling Site

AMSL Aero Builds Small Hydrogen Footprint Down Under

Sydney's Bankstown Airport has announced the availability of hydrogen on-site by way of AMSL Aero, a local firm developing 'emissions free' VTOL aircraft. The deal came with a partnership alongside Aeria Management Group, posting up hydrogen fuel cylinders at Bankstown to prepare for future flight testing using the novel power source. AMSL's Vertiia will be test flown on the hydrogen fuel next year, with an eye towards commercial rollout in 2027. For now, however, it doesn't seem like there's much demand for hydrogen in the area, but that will quickly tip once enough aircraft make their way to market. Tail Rotor Push Pull Tube Was Found Bent And Severed Aft Of The Tail Rotor Gear Box Near The Bell Crank Assembly

On August 18, 2024, about 1600 Hawaii-Aleutian standard time, a Robinson R44 helicopter, N740RH sustained substantial damage when it was involved in a pre-take off accident near Honolulu, Hawaii. The pilot was uninjured. The helicopter was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 135 sightseeing flight. The flight operated by Novictor Aviation, DBA Rainbow Helicopters, was preparing to depart on the fourth flightseeing tour of the day. The pilot stated she started the engine and engaged the main rotor clutch prior to boarding the passengers.
