NASA Rescue Mission May Be Falling Through

Astronauts Experience an Unfortunate Wardrobe Malfunction

Two of NASA’s Astronauts have now been stranded in space for nearly three months. They could potentially hitchhike back to Earth on the SpaceX Dragon, with one catch: their spacesuits aren’t compatible. On June 5, NASA Astronauts Butch Wilmore and Suni Williams were shipped up to space in the Boeing Starliner. The mission was originally supposed to last eight days, but technical issues with the spacecraft have extended their stay.

Honda Aircraft Company sent out some good news for owners and operators of the HA-420 HondaJet, thanks to an updated maintenance schedule. The Honda Maintenance Program aims to "enhance HondaJet operational efficiency and increase dispatch availability" by drawing upon years of extensive aircraft testing and time studies, ensuring that operators enjoy all the upsides of reduced maintenance hours with none of the downsides. The new changes have been listed as 'Revision J' of the Airworthiness Limitation and Inspection Manual (ALIM).

French ERA Finds Fans in the Intermountain West

French manufacturer Aura Aero signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Alpine Air Express, a regional freight carrier based out of Provo, Utah. The carrier says it operates more than 100 flights a day across the USA for clientele like UPS, Amazon, and the Postal Service, taking on the task of "last mile delivery". Their fleet stands at just over 80 aircraft, and Aura Aero's promise of an affordable, sustainable hybrid-powered regional prop plane cuts an attractive figure for their operations. As such, Alpine Air Express inked a new letter of intent for up to 75 of the ERA (Electric Regional Aircraft), building on their 2023 Memorandum with a more codified plan to purchase some equipment.

Nonapproach Control Tower Authorizes aircraft to land or takeoff at the airport controlled by the tower or to transit the Class D airspace. The primary function of a nonapproach control tower is the sequencing of aircraft in the traffic pattern and on the landing area. Nonapproach control towers also separate aircraft operating under instrument flight rules clearances from approach controls and centers.
