Aero-TV: A Multi-Talented LSA: The Airplane Factory 'Sling'

Not Your Usual Run-Of-The-Mill LSA... Not By A Long Shot

While at Sun 'n Fun 2014 ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell had the opportunity to talk with Matt Liknaitzky, the president of The Aircraft Factory U.S.

This is the company that brings the Sling line of aircraft to the U.S. market. The name Sling may be new to a lot of people because it originates in South Africa. The Sling 2 is a light sport eligible airplane that is produced in both a completed form and a kit version.

In this interview you'll get a lot of information about the Sling 2 and other the Sling aircraft they produce. We learn that the Sling 2 was designed from the ground up as a light sport aircraft, it's not a modification of a previous European certification. Liknaitzky points out that their aircraft are designed for the unique rugged use required in that part of the world. The Aircraft Factory U.S. will soon be building portions of the Sling line of airplanes at their facility in California.

The Sling 2 is not your usual run-of-the-mill LSA and you'll be impressed by what you see. You'll also be impressed by the amount of information in this video.
