Airborne Oshkosh Day 5 Redux: EAA Education Ctr, Archon!!!, RANS Update

07.29.22: Tempest Aero, I Hart Flying, B-25 Restoration, Vintage A/C Montage, Pelton Int'vw #5

The EAA Education Center is a massive undertaking designed to help new and experienced pilots build their skill sets... and it's set in the shadow of the EAA Museum, itself.

Tempest Aero is doing its best to keep up with the insane demand of a number of products in their extensive product line... especially oil filters, at the moment. Everyone has high hopes for the future of aviation at a time when it's hard to see better prospects... I HART FLYING is one group that’s taking an active role in helping aviation grow. RANS Aircraft has new management and Randy Schlitter may finally get a chance to do a little recreational flying... The Archon is here -- the poor-man’s fighter plane, attached to a Rotax 912, is on display at Oshkosh and should be available for kit-builders by this time next year. One thing’s for sure... taxi up to the ramp in one of these things and you WILL get everyone’s attention. One of the many awe inspiring parts of AirVenture each year is the Warbird area where countless hours of tedious restoration are on display. We caught up with the crew restoring a B-25 named Sandbar Mitchell to get an update on their progress AND find out about one of their unique fundraising opportunities. One of the most stunning areas of AirVenture is the gathering of much-loved historic aircraft that gather in the Vintage Aircraft area... planes from throughout history gather there and if you listen carefully, you can almost hear the stories they have to tell of a lifetime of service to general aviation... Take a look for yourself. And finally. Part 5 of the 5 Part Jack Pelton Interview! All this -- and MORE in today's episode of Airborne!!!
