New Twist: Deer v. Piaggio -- Deer Still Loses

Ongoing Deer v. Airplane Battle Reveals No Winners

As we've noted elsewhere, it was a tough weekend for aviation and a number of aviators... as well as one of our four-footed friends. In our last installment of 'Deer v Airplane,' it was a Southwest Boeing against Bambi... and of course, Bambi lost -- big time (though we're told there is no truth to the rumor that a deer silhouette has been painted just before the pilot's cockpit window -- even if it was a "clean kill"). This time, though, a Piaggio Avanti Turbo-Prop Pusher smacked a deer upon landing late Saturday afternoon, aborted the touchdown and then headed off to another field, where it was reportedly unable to stop on the runway.

Like we said... in the brutal game of Deer v. Airplane, there are no winners.
