The media frenzy surrounding the recent New York Times article
about homeland security concerns centered on general aviation has
passed as quickly as it arrived -- a sure sign it wasn't much of a
story after all. Even with AOPA President Phil Boyer appearing on
most of the major network broadcasts to tell our side of the story,
the episode was painful for all of us.
The morning of March 3, just hours before EAA member Steve
Fossett concluded his record solo around-the-world flight in the
Virgin Atlantic GlobalFlyer, Virgin Chairman Sir Richard Branson
remarked, "It will most definitely go to Oshkosh in July."
Government officials say talks between trade representatives
from the US and EU have broken down -- threatening to spark again
the long-running fight over subsidies to commercial airplane
makers.
They Say NASA Hasn't Fixed "Cultural" Issues That Contributed
To Columbia Tragedy
Two of NASA's most senior shuttle commanders -- both of whom
recently left the space agency, say not enough has been done to
correct cultural safety issues that became factors in the
destruction of Columbia two years ago.

30 Lancair Planes To Decend On Scottsdale March 31st-April
3rd
On Thursday, March 31st, 2005, owners of more than thirty
Lancair Columbia airplanes will descend on the Scottsdale Airport
for the annual Lancair Owners Pilot Association (LOPA) fly-in.
Nippon Cargo Airlines (NCA) has selected two advanced ARINC
communications services to enhance its long-range operations and
