Life After American

Robert Crandall And Donald Burr Head New Air Taxi Company

From POGO...

American Airline's former president and CEO has joined a new air taxi service called POGO (formerly known as iFlyAirTaxi).

"We wanted to find a name that would suggest both 'unconventional' and 'approachable,' one that conveys the idea of quickly hopping from one place to another," said POGO CEO Donald Burr. "POGO is easy to remember. Familiar in one sense, yet - when brought to the aviation world - totally unconventional. The way people use air travel will soon change forever - which is the essence of our tag line, 'POGO and you're there.'" POGO will offer fast, convenient, safe, professional and consistent service at far lower prices than conventional charters.

POGO will offer an entirely new kind of service that will make private plane travel -- and the quality of life and productivity benefits of private plane travel - available to a vastly expanded audience. The company will use smaller, currently underutilized airports, a fleet of next generation aircraft and professional, carefully trained crews to bring convenience back to air travel.

POGO's management team is comprised of aviation industry innovators including Donald Burr (founder of People Express and a pioneer of the low-fare airline industry) as CEO and Robert Crandall (formerly CEO of American Airlines and the visionary behind the Sabre reservation system and frequent flyer programs) as Chairman. The two are collaborating with a talented team with experience at such innovative ventures as JetBlue, NetJets, and Southwest Airlines.
