Aero-News Quote Of The Day (05.07.04)

Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"I stayed on the line with the woman and Bishop in a three-way call. We got to see them fly in right over us. It felt awesome to get them on the ground safely."

Source: Danielle Prince, a seven-year veteran dispatcher at the Genesee County (MI) 911 Center. She took the call from a passenger aboard a Cessna 172 Saturday after the pilot, who was flying above the clouds, lost all power to the cockpit. Prince contacted the pilot's home field -- Bishop Airport in Flint (MI). The tower there called the 127th Fighter Wing of the Michigan Air National Guard and an F-16 escorted the aircraft to a hole in the overcast.
