Legacy Walk Memorializes Sweginnis, Corradi

Two Popular ERAU Teachers Perished in 2004 Midair

We received the following from news from our guy at ERAU, and the best thing to do is give it to your verbatim:

"During the Daytona Beach Homecoming [Oct.28], Embry-Riddle will hold a dedication ceremony of a bronze plaque at 3:00 pm on the Legacy Walk in honor of Robert W. "Swig" Sweginnis and Michael Corradi, the two beloved aviators who tragically crashed August 28, 2004 while performing an aerobatic exercise over Prescott Valley.

"Please join Jacki Sweginnis, Marilyn Corradi and university representatives for this dedication ceremony."

This seems like a noble thing to do to honor these two well-loved professors, who were the soul of ERAU-Prescott's active aerobatics club. It's a bit curious that this is taking place at Daytona, but we're sure the Prescott campus has found a way to honor these two fallen aviators.

At the time of this tragic accident, Aero-News ran two stories on these aviators and their passing. Since then, the NTSB has conducted a preliminary investigation and made its report public.
