JSSI and Piaggio Aero Join Forces

Program to Support P180 Avanti and Avanti II Operators

Jet Support Services, Inc. [JSSI] and Piaggio Aero [Piaggio Aero Industries, S.P.A. and Piaggio America, Inc.] have joined forces to provide JSSI’s Tip-To-Tail Program to benefit Piaggio’s P180 Avanti and Avanti II aircraft operators.

“Our business philosophy is built on a concept unique to the corporate aviation maintenance service arena,” said JSSI President and CEO, John [Rick] F. Haskins. “At JSSI, we realize that all budgets are not created equal. Therefore, the idea of an hourly maintenance cost program allows Avanti operators complete control of their budget while eliminating financial risk. Since the program covers both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events, it’s a win-win opportunity.”

JSSI’s innovative Tip-To-Tail Program is a comprehensive and flexible hourly maintenance cost guarantee program available today, which includes virtually every component, assembly and system on the aircraft.

According to Haskins, the new agreement between JSSI and Piaggio includes the cost of labor, as well as periodic inspections required to maintain each component, including removal and installations. The program is specifically tailored to support Piaggio’s worldwide sales efforts in connection with new and in-service Avanti P-180 aircraft operators. The program covers both airframe and engine; however, Piaggio and/or Avanti P-180 operators may elect to enroll only the aircraft’s airframe or engine on the plan. The operator will pay an hourly fee each month, based on the flight hours flown during the previous month. The hourly fee is based on the operator’s planned annual utilization [both flight hours and landings], and may be adjusted annually based on inflation, spare parts and labor cost, as well as the client’s operating profile.

“With our joint program offering with Piaggio, Avanti operators will have the opportunity to realize an increase in their aircraft’s residual value while maximizing their maintenance budget,” added Haskins.

The benefits of the Tip-To-Tail Program for Avanti P-180 operators include the following:

  • Opportunity to establish an achievable maintenance budget
  • Elimination of financial risk for both scheduled and unscheduled maintenance events
  • Continued control over their maintenance operation and expenses
  • Ability to transfer their Tip-To-Tail® equity to other [existing or future] covered aircraft
  • Opportunity to realize an increase in their aircraft’s residual value
  • Reimbursement for in-house maintenance labor [and parts] expenses
  • Opportunity to be reimbursed for some of the funds paid into the Tip-To-Tail Program through the JSSI/VEST plan

“Market demand for the P180 Avanti and Avanti II has never been higher,” said Massimo Isidori, Piaggio Aero’s Senior VP Commercial – P180 Avanti. “With a growing fleet, a strong order book and strategic partners such as JSSI, Piaggio is in an optimal position to offer value-added services for our customers. We are excited to provide our P180 Avanti and Avanti II operators with a special program specifically designed to assist them in managing their maintenance budget.“

Founded in 1989, JSSI provides clients with comprehensive, flexible and affordable financial tools for managing the often unpredictable costs of operating and maintaining nearly all types of turbine-powered aircraft, including jets, turbo-props and turbine powered helicopters. The only independent hourly cost maintenance provider, JSSI serves clients globally and manages maintenance services through its network of technical advisors stationed worldwide.
