What's Going On In West Jordan, UT?

Another Plane Broken Into At U42

For the second time in as many days, there's a report of a suspicious incident at Salt Lake City Municipal Airport 2 (U42).

The owner of a Cessna 150 called police Tuesday night to report his plane had been broken into. The 150 was parked in an unenclosed hangar at the airport, West Jordan police Sergeant Aaron Jensen told the Salt Lake Herald.

Police are working with the FBI to determine if anything was taken from the airplane -- and, if this latest break-in is related to the attempted theft of a Diamond DA-20 a day before at the airport.

As Aero-News reported, someone apparently broke into the Diamond aircraft early Monday morning, started its engine, and taxied to takeoff. The thief then apparently ran into problems, however, as the plane was later found, engine still idling, off the side of the runway -- with skid marks trailing behind it.

Investigators do not know when the 150 break-in occurred.
