One YouTube creator has made some waves with his latest video, a quickly edited affair packed with jump cuts, that he says shows his recent cross country flight ending in an ‘unavoidable’ plane crash.The 16-minute video is packed with oddities from the start. It features Jacob flying a 1940 Taylorcraft to spread the ashes of his friend, Johnny Strange, who died in a 2015 wingsuit crash. With his aircraft sporting cameras affixed to the tail, the port wing, and the cabin, Jacob had been filming a supposed cross country. Minister Warns of Airport Administration of Cooling Effect on Local Flight Training

The airport administration of the Montreal, Canada area has made a deeply unpopular decision at its Mirabel location. Aéroports de Montréal (ADM) has added an additional fee for its handling of ATC costs for local french-speaking aviators, looking for ways to bring in additional funding to plug a shortfall of hundreds of millions of dollars in its administration. Mirabel airport has announced a fee of $65 per landing, and local flight training staff say the change will make their school's annual fees downright punitive.

Composite Russian Narrowbody Coming Along on Schedule

Russia has issued the first type certificate for the new MC-21-300 passenger aircraft to the Irkut Corporation, a part of the United Aircraft Conglomerate of Russia's Rostec State Corp. The certification proves that the MC-21 meets the requirements for the country's civil aircraft, with the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency also issuing the Design Organization Certificate to Irkut. The MC-21 could change the passenger aircraft duopoly by providing an alternative to Airbus or Boeing competition. After successfully achieving the fundraising goal of $150,000 for the annual 12 Planes of Christmas campaign, the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) has set a stretch goal to raise an additional $25,000 as part of the 12 Planes of Christmas campaign supporting aircraft restoration efforts. A Cirrus SR22 is reported to have gone down in Knoxville, TN, with two on board. One person was identified by his company, as Charlie Schneider, CEO of MyGoFlight. The accident took place in the morning, about 0920 local time, December 16th near the McGhee Tyson Airport. The MyGoFlight Facebook page has reported that, "Charlie was traveling for business on a single-engine craft, Cirrus SR22. At this time, the cause of the accident is unknown. Charlie died this morning at UT Medical Center in Nashville, TN. During this time of loss, the family is asking for privacy.

On December 3, 2021, about 1823 central standard time, a Cessna 182L, N182NS, was destroyed when it was involved in an accident near Bonnerdale, Arkansas. The non-instrument rated private pilot was fatally injured. The airplane was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 91 personal flight. The accident airplane was the lead airplane in a flight of two that departed Mendin, Louisiana (MNE), about 1738, destined for Clarksville, Arkansas (H35).

AD 2022-01-04 Prompted By An In-Flight Shutdown (IFSD) Of An Engine

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Rolls-Royce Corporation (RRC) AE 2100D3 model turboprop engines. This AD was prompted by an in-flight shutdown (IFSD) of an engine and subsequent investigation by the manufacturer that revealed a crack in the 3rd-stage compressor wheel. This AD requires replacement of the affected 3rd-stage compressor wheel. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective February 2, 2022.
