Airborne-NextGen 01.28.25: Blue Origin NS-29, Windracers, Drone America-UAS Ctr

Blue Origin’s New Shepard flight, NS-29, was scheduled to launch on Tuesday, January 28, 2025 at 1000CST from Launch Site One in West Texas, carrying 30 payloads for NASA and others. It will also simulate lunar gravity to accelerate learning and technology readiness for customers at a much lower cost than actually going to the Moon. UK-based Windracers announced the unveiling of the ULTRA MK2, its next-generation autonomous cargo UAV that is designed for middle-mile logistics and compared to its predecessor, has double the power generation and able to carry up to 150 kg in payload while also realizing a significant reduction in fuel costs.

For some odd reason, the U.S. Air Force decided that the removal of videos of Tuskegee Airmen and WASPS from its curriculum was required by the military DEI ban announced by President Trump. The focus on removing DEI “training” in the military is one thing, but cutting out the critically important contribution of black pilots during World War II and its ongoing influence on the entry of young black men and women into aviation and the military is quite another.

In Minneapolis on Glenwood Avenue there is a black-owned restaurant known as Minne’s that is the site of one of the city’s newest symbols of inspiration and perseverance. He explained that his inspiration arose out of an essay that was written by high school student James Timothy Baker and that he chose the site as his canvas because it was once owned by the Baker family.
