GI 275 Retrofit AML Expanded

Backup Gauge Sees Wider Approval with Approved Model Expansion

Southeast Aerospace has received FAA approval for an expanded Aircraft Model List for their STC to use the GI 275 electronic gauge as a backup instrument.

STC ST01985WI allows for the installation of the GI 275 as an electronic standby instrument, with the expanded AML now making the retrofit available on more than 1,500 aircraft. The certification allows dealers to replace aging, hard-to-replace IVA-81A/D IVSI units with the newer GI 275 IVSI, making for a much more affordable solution than strict repair and overhaul. The ESI iteration of the 275 allows a nifty single-instrument solution to replace "pre-existing, obsolete, higher-cost ESI and mechanical standby instruments."

The complete AML STC list for the GI 275 ESI now includes hits from all the major bizjet marques, like Bombardier, Dassault, Embraer, Learjet, Gulfstream, Cessna, and BAE. On top of the AML extension, Mexico's FAA equivalent has also validated STCs to allow the GI 275 in use as an Instantaneous Vertical Speed Indicator (IVSI) and an Electronic Standby Instrument (ESI) for a host of Part 25 aircraft operating within their airspace.

"This AFAC validation is more than just an administrative step; it's an opportunity for us to offer operators in Mexico the ability to upgrade their avionics systems to state-of-the-art technology affordably and efficiently," said Luke Gomoll, SEA Aircraft Modifications Sales Representative. "We're committed to adding value to the aviation community in Mexico, and this validation reinforces our ability to provide solutions for aircraft operators."
