Sekolah Tinggi Penerbang Indonesia (STPI) educates pilots under the auspices of the Ministry of Transportation for the Republic of Indonesia. On hand for delivery of the first six new aircraft was Ir. Maryati Karma, MM, director of Indonesia's International Civil Aviation Institute. "This is a significant fleet purchase and will enhance the country's ability to train students in a modern training environment," said Chuck Glass, director of Piper Global Fleet Sales, based in Brunei.

"This is the perfect fleet airplane to assist STPI in its mission to train more pilots to meet the country's growing requirement for air transportation, so necessary to continuing to build the country's economy," Glass said. The school offers private pilot, commercial pilot, instrument rating and multi-engine training and degrees in aviation.

The Piper Warriors join a number of other training aircraft in STPI's fleet, which includes the Beech Sundowner, Piper Dakota, Socata Tobago and Beech Baron.
