Seek 'Fair Value' For Profit-Sharing And Equity Outlined In Contract

Frontier Airlines flight attendants, represented by the Association of Flight Attendants-CWA (AFA), say they will continue to work towards a collective bargaining agreement even with the sale of the airline pending. In August, Frontier management approached AFA seeking to make changes to the current Flight Attendant contract which becomes amendable in March 2016.

"Frontier Airlines flight attendants have a substantial role in the future success of our airline," the union said in a statement released to the media. "We have made great sacrifices in order to provide for a brighter tomorrow, and it is important that our contributions be recognized before any sale can be finalized. Our union has experience with Indigo Partners, and we know it is critical to get firm commitments up front if the change in ownership is going to work for our members.

"As key partners in this transaction, and in the day-to-day operations of Frontier, we are looking forward to the growth potential ahead and to continuing our meaningful partnerships as our airline evolves. However, it is important that flight attendants first achieve fair value for the equity and profit-sharing section of our contract. Frontier flight attendants remain united and are resolute that any agreement must be for the good of the airline and be good for flight attendants," said Kathie Weis, AFA President at Frontier."

Any agreement will be subject to ratification by the membership.
