Build-A-Plane Opens eBay Auction

Proceeds To Benefit Aircraft Donation Program

Build A Plane -- a non-profit organization which helps teachers teach science, technology, engineering and math by building real airplanes -- announced recently the opening of a new auction program for all aviation enthusiasts.

Beginning Friday, November 23, those logging on to the Build A Plane website will have the option to click on a red "eBay Auction!" button, to bid on a wide variety of one-of-a-kind items -- from aviation collectibles to tropical vacations, and personal VIP dinners with top aviation celebrities.

New items will be regularly added to the Build A Plane e-Bay auction site, making this an on-going fundraising effort. All proceeds go directly to support the organization’s charitable aviation education efforts.

“This is a great way to support kids getting more exposure to aviation,” said Build A Plane's Lyn Freeman. “Build A Plane has more than 70 projects in schools across the United States where kids are learning by building real airplanes.

"The proceeds from this unique fundraiser, something totally new and different for aviation, will help us continue to help kids,” Freeman added.

Build A Plane solicits aircraft donations, and then redirects those airplanes to high schools and youth groups across the country at no charge. Build A Plane is also working in formal partnership with the FAA to promote aviation education and is part of the Thomas W. Wathen Foundation, recently designated as a National Center for Aviation Education.
