World’s First Envision Gold Certified FBO
Clay Lacy Aviation announced the groundbreaking on a sustainability-focused FBO development at John Wayne Airport (KSNA) in Santa Ana, California.
The project is the largest private infrastructure investment in the airport’s history and will involve the redevelopment of it existing 14-acre footprint to establish the world’s first ISI Envision Gold Certified FBO by the Institute of Sustainable Infrastructure.
The development includes 41,800 square feet of offices and a passenger terminal, four hangars totaling 145,000 square feet, and a 6.7-acre ramp. As are all other Clay Lacy facilities, the Gensler-designed project will be certified carbon neutral by integrating solar panel provisions, EV charging, and efficient building design.
It will also include high-capacity electric aircraft charging to support the growing fleet of all-electric and hybrid-electric aircraft that will underpin the rapidly emerging Advanced Air Mobility (AAM) market. It will also continue to supply a steady stream of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) for piston and jet aircraft.
Charlene Reynolds, Airport Director said, “Clay Lacy is the first of three fixed-based-operators at the airport who will help us transform the entire landscape of John Wayne Airport.
