EAA AeroEducate-Estes Rockets Partnership Announced

Countdown to Comprehension

EAA’s AeroEducate online aviation education program will offer participants expanded opportunities by way of a new agreement entered into with Estes Rockets, the world’s leader in model rocketry.

EAA director of education Paul Maloy stated: “As tens of thousands of young people are now discovering the world of flight through EAA AeroEducate, the possibilities available through Estes Rockets’ education programs will add an exciting new component for youths, parents, and educators. As a Mentor Partner to AeroEducate, Estes can provide excellent education resources along with plenty of fun for everyone involved.”

As part of the agreement, EAA’s education staff will work with Estes to develop four self-exploratory, grade level-based activities for grades K-2, 3-5, 6-8, and 9-12. Subject activities will introduce model rocketry and provide credits within AeroEducate’s full technology badge program. Access to the Estes website—which offers model rocketry projects for all ages and skill levels—will also be provided.

Estes Rockets president Mallory Langford set forth: “Estes is thrilled to partner with the EAA, an organization that carries a rich history in aviation. We share a mission to excite and prepare the next generation of students in aeronautics and astronautics by empowering educators and supporting students. We look forward to supporting the development of rocketry activities on the AeroEducate platform to expand the impact of both organizations.”

The described agreement provides a link from the AeroEducate Teacher Dashboard to Estes’ established educational resources.

AeroEducate provides opportunities for educators to incorporate hands-on aviation and aerospace projects into classroom plans at no charge to schools or teachers. Estes programming will be integrated into EAA AeroEducate activities beginning in late 2023.

Mr. Maloy concluded: “The science and technology behind flight is fascinating for young people, whether it involves aviation or rocketry. This new agreement brings even more avenues to discovery for kids and an interest that offers unlimited potential for their futures.”
