Color Docs Help Keep Tabs in Student Progress (For a Small Price Tag)
ASA has updated its lineup to accommodate for the new Airman Certification Standards that go into effect on May 31st, providing refreshed Student Flight Records for Instrument and Commercial Airplane, as well as the same for Private, Instrument, and Commercial Helicopter ratings.
ASA's professional student flight records render the sometimes taxing experience of keeping records a little simpler than doing it by hand, with all the latest regulations accounted for. Student flight records are 4-color documents and run about six bucks, not too shabby in a line of work where most training is measures in the hundreds per hour.
The new documents include elements for fixed wing and helicopter operations. The first, Instrument Rating and Commercial Pilot Student Flight Record (SFR-IC7), complies with Airman Certification Standards (ACS) for Commercial Pilot Airplane (ACS-7B) and Instrument Rating Airplane (ACS-8C). The second, Helicopter Student Flight Record (SFR-H4) has been updated to comply with the Private Pilot (ACS-15), Instrument Rating (ACS-14), and Commercial Pilot (ACS-16) Airman Certification Standards. The older Private Pilot Airplane (SFR-P6) remains current with the Private Pilot Airplane (ACS-6C) that goes into effect May 31, 2024.
Each folder acts as a permanent flight training record for the student and satisfies both Part 61 and 141 requirements--with room to record ground lessons, written exams, flight maneuvers, and flight checks. ASA even sprung for color printing (a foreign concept to many FBOs) which adds a little touch of class with a 4-color design.
