FAI Continues Fleet Expansion

Adds Global Express XRS And Challenger 604

German general aviation operator and air ambulance specialist FAI rent-a-jet Aktiengesellschaft (dba Flight Ambulance Intl.) has announced further expansion of its fleet with the addition of a fourth Bombardier Global Express and sixth Bombardier Challenger 604. This bolsters FAI’s total fleet to 24 jet aircraft and further underlines FAI’s position as Germany’s largest general aviation operator.

The Global Express XRS is being operated under Part-NCC (Non-Commercial Operations) rules on the San Marino aircraft registry on behalf of a corporate client. The Challenger 604 will also be operated under Part-NCC rules under the Cayman Islands registry. Both aircraft will join the fleet on June 1st.

The aircraft will be based at the company’s headquarters in Nuremberg and will be maintained by FAI’s MRO subsidiary, FAI Technik.

The company has taken a leading position in the German Business Aviation sector utilizing in excess of 13,000 hours of airtime in 2016. Commenting, Siegfried Axtmann, FAI´s Founder and Chairman said: “I’m delighted to welcome these two excellent performing aircraft into our fleet and equally delighted to maintain our position as the largest business jet operator in Germany for the second year in succession. Our primary goal is to continue to be one of the most profitable business jet operators in Europe and so far this year it is looking like we will achieve this yet again.”

FAI is a niche operator specialized in worldwide patient transport by air ambulance, as well logistic flight support for NGOs in hostile areas. All of the aircraft are based at the company’s home base of Albrecht Dürer Airport in Nuremberg, Germany and maintained by FAI Technik. The additional aircraft also serve to strengthen the company’s position as one of Europe’s largest Bombardier operators, which brings significant operational and cost benefits.

The FAI fleet comprises four Global Express, six Challenger 604, 11 Learjet 60, two Learjet 55, one Premier 1A and a King Air 350.
