Pilot Who Ejected From F-15 Leaves Hospital

Escapes Serious Injury Moments Before Crash

An experienced pilot with more than 15 years flying experience left the hospital "pretty battered and bruised" this week, following a night of medical observation after escaping serious injury when he ejected from an F-15 moments before the jet crashed in southwestern Indiana Wednesday, as ANN reported.

"He's released from all medical observation and he's en route back to Missouri," said Missouri Air National Guard Capt. Tamara Spicer.

Spicer declined to release the pilot's name, citing Guard policy.

The jet from Missouri's Air National Guard's 131st Fighter Wing went down Wednesday morning in a lightly-populated rural area near the Indiana-Illinois state line during practice maneuvers, reported the Associated Press.

Those maneuvers involved four F-15s from St. Louis and four F-16 jets from the Indiana Air National Guard's 181st Fighter Wing, based in Terre Haute, said the Guard.

The other jets were not damaged and no injuries on the ground were reported.
