Mid-Continent Instruments Makes The Case For Going Small

Unveils Two-Inch CDI For Space-Constrained Panels

At last week's National Business Aviation Association conference in Orlando, FL, Mid-Continent Instruments told ANN it understands the shortage of panel space in many general aviation aircraft. After introducing a two-inch attitude gyro to the market last May, Mid-Continent has now added a two-inch course deviation indicator (CDI) to its résumé of certified instruments.

With a compact size of 2.25", the new CDI saves on panel space allowing it to be placed just about anywhere in your instrument panel.

"Every general aviation pilot needs a CDI of some sort," said Todd Winter, president of Mid-Continent Instruments. "The MD200 series' size allows you to fulfill that need without taking up valuable panel real estate."

In addition to saving space, the MD200 series offers an innovative safety feature that moves the pointers out of view with an invalid signal. The CDI's rectilinear meter movements allow for precise and accurate readings by the pilot. NAV, GPS, and VLOC annunciation are built-in and backlit by LED lighting providing enhanced nighttime and sunlight readability.

"This indicator will fit the need of aircraft owners of LSA all the way up to business aircraft," stated Winter. The CDI has TSO approval from the FAA and will interface with the most common NAV and GPS receivers.

Edmo Distributors and Mid-Continent Instruments reports these units will be available for purchase through any FAA approved avionics dealer.
