FDC 5/7895 ZHU ... SPECIAL NOTICE ... EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE. JOINT TASK FORCE (JTF) KATRINA AIRSPACE CONTROL PLAN (ACP) PROCEDURES ARE IN EFFECT. ASSESSMENT, SEARCH, RESCUE, RECOVERY AND RECONSTITUTION OPERATIONS ARE IN EFFECT IN THE FEMA-DELCARED DISASTER AREA ALONG THE GULF COAST FROM BATON ROUGE, LA EAST TO MOBILE, AL. KATRINA JOINT OPERATIONS AREA (JOA): 3100N 09100W, 3100N 08730W, 2830N 08730W, 2830N 09100W SURFACE UP TO BUT NOT INCLUDING 5000 MSL. DETAILED PROCEDURES FOR OPERATING IN THIS AREA CAN BE FOUND AT WWW.FAA.GOV. PILOTS NOT PARTICIPATING IN FEMA OPERATIONS ARE ADVISED TO AVOID THE AIRSPACE ABOVE DUE TO THE HIGH VOLUME OF BOTH ROTARY AND FIXED WING AIRCRAFT UFN.
