Diamond Offers Pilots Chance To 'Fly Your First Year Free'

New DA40 XLS Owners May Take Advantage Of Over $13K In Savings

While Diamond Aircraft has made more headlines lately over its battle with the bankruptcy administrator for Thielert Aircraft Engines, than for its planes, the London, Ontario-based planemaker would like everyone to remember its DA40 XLS is one of the most appealing choices available for discriminating pilots. And that choice just got even more so.

Pilots who purchase a new DA40 XLS between June 1 and July 31, 2008 can fly their new plane for the first year for little more than their monthly payments -- with Diamond picking up maintenance, insurance, fuel and training for the first year of operation, a $13,250 value:

The "Fly Your First Year Free" Offer includes:

  • Free maintenance includes all scheduled maintenance, parts and labor, for one year or 250 hours, whichever comes first – a $2,750 value.
  • Free insurance is available up to $3,500 -- which will cover most private, IFR pilots in a DA40 XLS.
  • Free fuel covers 100 hours of flying -- at $5 per gallon and the DA40's low 10 gph fuel burn, or $5,000 of free fuel.
  • Free training is a $2,000 training credit, which customers can take at a Diamond Flight Center of their choice, and which can be used for transition training, or towards any rating, private or more advanced.

"We are very excited about this offer: it allows our customers to finance 90%  of the full purchase price of the aircraft, and enables them to have very few out-of-pocket cost during their first year of ownership," said Fred Ahles, President of Premier Aircraft Sales, the Diamond distributor in Florida. "The DA40 XLS has always been a very economical plane to operate -- typically costing less than $1,000 per month – and with this special offer, there are few costs beyond the monthly payments for the entire first year of ownership."

The offer is limited to inventory on hand at Diamond distributors.
