China Publishes Photos Of Possible Malaysia Airlines 370 Wreckage

Three Fragments Found Floating In The South China Sea

The Chinese government has posted photos of what may be fragments of Malaysia Airlines Flight 370 floating in the South China Sea. The photos were reportedly captured Sunday by Chinese satellites.

The photos were posted Wednesday on the website of China's State Administration of Science, the BBC and CNN reported. The reports were relayed by USA Today.

The coordinates posted by the Chinese Government were 105.63 east and 6.7 north. That would put the plane northeast of its origin in Kuala Lampur, Malaysia and south of Vietnam over open water.

None of the wreckage has been recovered. The search area has been expanded to 35,800 square miles of ocean in southeast Asia as well as the Indian Ocean. The search includes 42 ships and 39 aircraft, according to USA Today.
