Volatus Scores Drone Services Contract With Electric Utility

Multi-Year Inspection And Mapping Deal Worth $15M

Volatus Aerospace announced a multi-year agreement with one of North America’s largest electricity distribution and transmission utilities, to provide inspections, mapping, and data services across its extensive network of about 100,000 miles of lines using remotely piloted aircraft systems.

In addition to line inspections, Volatus will also provide vegetation management substation assessments, emergency storm response, and advanced data acquisition to enhance the overall reliability of the system.

The initial agreement is for three years with an option for a two-year extension and with this dela, Volatus captures a larger share of the utility inspection market. The full-term value of the contract is expected to generate revenues of about $15 million.

This agreement reflects the increasing role of drones in utility asset management and provides Volatus with recurring opportunities to deliver value at scale.”
