One Confirmed Fatally Injured In Mid-Air Collision In Germany

Learjet Chartered By The German Military Collided With A Fighter Jet

A mid-air collision in Germany has fatally injured at least one person, with another unaccounted for.

The BBC reports that a German Eurofighter collided with a Learjet that had been chartered by the military during an exercise involving a second Eurofighter.

The Learjet impacted terrain in a wooded area near the town of Olsberg less than 300 feet from an apartment building. One person had been confirmed fatally injured, while a second is still missing and feared to be dead.

The website for the German news outlet Die Velt reports that the Learjet was also a part of the exercise.

The pilot of the fighter managed to safely land his badly-damaged aircraft at an airbase in Cologne.
