Savback Helicopters Moves to Nottingham Heliport

The Facility Will Be Owned And Operated By Central Helicopters

The expansion of the rotary wing aircraft market continues, as some customers in the pandemic economy got an irreversible taste for the convenience and function of helicopter usage for business, transport, and leisure.

Savback Helicopters AB announced its newest base of operations at Nottingham Heliport in East Midlands, UK, as it grows its operational footprint in Europe. The facility will be owned and operated by Central Helicopters, consisting of 11 acres of private grounds, VIP facilities for crew and passengers, an expansive hangar, and plentiful space for offices and classrooms. The hangar space will function as a showroom for pre-owned helicopter stock, a client preview area, new product demonstration facility, and pre-purchase inspection complex.

“We selected East Midlands’ Nottingham Heliport as our new home with some deliberation. It’s strategically centrally located in the heart of the UK, close to major cities including Derby, Leicester and Birmingham and convenient for motor sports and F1 industries, as well as being just 30 minutes’ drive from East Midlands Airport, a busy aviation hub. We have also enjoyed an excellent collaboration with the proprietors at Central Helicopters this past year and loved the idea of co-locating with them. We are immensely proud to be able to cooperate with such competent and customer focused people.” said Reja Savbäck, CEO.

“The opening of the Nottingham office will bring us closer to our UK customers, enabling us to deliver an even better service. We are right on site to participate in more events, demos, put our customers’ helicopters on display and more. Nottingham Heliport is an increasingly popular refueling facility, so potential visitors can view any for sale aircraft while their helicopter is being refueled,” she added.

“With their outstanding facilities and central location, it’s an ideal base to launch our new products and support our existing and growing client base here in the UK. Our continued growth in these unprecedented times is testament to the diligent Savback team,” said Rick Andrew, Sales Director at Savback. We are looking forward to working with Dan Briggs, Central Helicopters’ Director and his team into the future.”

“We are delighted to welcome Savback, who share our passion and dedication to the helicopter industry here,” said Dan Briggs. “Although the aviation industry has had an extremely difficult 18 months, the Covid lockdown periods have enabled us to refocus our business model. Having Savback on board with their own exciting ideas for growth fits well with our future.’’
