First B Number Mooney Acclaim Delivered To China

Manufactured In Kerrville, TX And Shipped Overseas For Final Assembly

Mooney International delivered the first M20TN Acclaim Type S which will be issued a Chinese issued B number in December 2014. The Acclaim was built, flight tested, and then disassembled in Kerrville, Texas, then shipped in a sea cargo container to China for reassembly and final delivery to its owner.

Delivery of the new Acclaim happened just two weeks after Mooney received Validation of Type Certificate (VTC) by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) on December 9, 2014. The successful event was a result of coordination between Mooney International’s three offices, and sister company Soaring Aviation located in the Henan Province in China. Mooney International and Henan Soaring are sister companies belonging to Meijing Group, a Zhengzhou-based company.

“The delivery of the new Acclaim to China under the newly granted VTC marks a winning success for Mooney International’s U.S. offices in Kerrville, Texas, and Chino, California,” said Mooney CEO Jerry Chen. “The manufacture, delivery, and shipment from Texas to China could not have been successful without the coordination of all our offices and the CAAC who was present to witness and bless the reassembly process.”

Future Acclaim models sold and operated in China are manufactured in Kerrville Texas then shipped for reassembly in Shangjie China. New Mooney M20TN and M20R aircraft for non-Chinese customers will still be completed and delivered through the manufacturing facility in Kerrville Texas.
