Classic Aero-TV: The Amazing Julie Clark - 32,000 Hours and Counting

From 2014: Possibly THE Ultimate All-American Airshow Performer!

Aero-News Special Correspondent, Michael Maya Charles, got one of the plum assignments when he interviewed airshow performer, Julie Clark, at EAA AirVenture 2014.

Charles started the interview by pointing out that Clark has been in the airshow business for 35 years, and then quickly covered his gaffe. You’ll have to watch the video to see just how smooth this guy is.

Clark is best known for her aerobatic performances in her polished Beechcraft T-34 Mentor, which she has been flying for 40 years. However, on occasion she also hits the airshow circuit with her North American T-28C; this is the airplane she performed in at AirVenture 2014.

Charles asked Clark about the differences in performing with the T-34 and T-28, and she responded with some interesting details. During her description of airshow and formation flying in the T-28, the term “mother scratcher” came up. You’ll understand what that means when you watch the video.

In this video, Clark shares some of her personal background and aviation experiences, and says she is proud of 32,000 hours of flying time, which includes her airline career, and 35 years of airshow flying without an accident. This is a fun interview with a great lady of aviation that you will want to see.
