Dynon Announces Skyview Version 5.1

Featuring User Configurable Data Logging

Dynon Avionics has added internal data logging to the SkyView Integrated Glass Panel system for in its latest release. This oft-requested feature enables SkyView to record and store up to 150 hours of flight and engine data for later retrieval and analysis. Data logging is included in SkyView firmware Version 5.1, a free upgrade for all existing SkyView owners.

Michael Schofield, Dynon Marketing Manager, stated "Our customers are excited about this feature, which is especially useful during the flight test phases of a new aircraft. Flight data helps document the aircraft performance and operating envelope, while comprehensive engine data can aid in the detection and diagnosis of powerplant issues.”

The User Data Log records the entire state of the SkyView system - over 100 items - and includes all ADAHRS (flight instrument) data, engine parameters, GPS data, autopilot status, transponder status, time, and more. SkyView can record between 2 and 150 hours of flight time - depending on the recording frequency selected - with choices between 0.1 Hz and 16Hz. The User Data Log exports to a USB memory stick as a standard CSV (comma separated value) file. The self-documenting log file can then be viewed in common spreadsheet programs, or analyzed via tools such as SavvyAnalysis.com.

Customers can download SkyView Version 5.1 for free from the Dynon Website.

Dynon Avionics manufactures avionics for Experimental and Light Sport Aircraft. Continuing a tradition started with the introduction of their first Electronic Flight Information System “glass panel”, Dynon is committed to developing innovative and high-quality avionics integrating the newest technology at affordable prices for all pilots.
