ASA Offers FAA Remote Pilot/Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide

Will Prep Potential Part 107 Operators For FAA Knowledge Test

A new FAA Remote Pilot/Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems Study Guide is now available in print and in eBook PDF format from ASA. Applicants seeking a Remote Pilot Certificate with an sUAS rating must pass an FAA Knowledge Exam. This study guide lays out the knowledge areas required for preparing to take this FAA airman knowledge test.

Topics include regulations, airspace, operating requirements and flight restrictions, aviation weather services, effects of weather on sUAS performance, small unmanned aircraft loading, emergency procedures, crew resource management (CRM), radio communication procedures, physiological factors (including drugs and alcohol) affecting pilot performance, aeronautical decision making (ADM) and judgment, airport operations, and maintenance and preflight inspection procedures.

Appendices provide registration and marking requirements for sUAS, abbreviations and acronyms used in operations and documentation, and lists of additional helpful resources for further study.
