AURA AERO Opens Daytona Beach Assembly & Delivery Hangar

Expansion Supported By Space Florida Financing Up To $200M

AURA AERO, a French manufacturer of hybrid electric aircraft, announced the completion of the first phase of its U.S. buildout with the opening of a 10,000 square foot hangar on the Embry-Riddle Research Park campus. The hangar will be outfitted with the equipment to assemble and deliver AURA AERO’s INTEGRAL two-seat trainer aircraft.

AURA AERO will begin the rollout of aircraft with its INTEGAL R, which is already certified in Europe and is on the FAA’s fast track process for certification in the U.S.

The hangar will also house two prototypes of INTEGRAL E, the all-electric version that will begin its flight test campaign in Florida before entering into service in early 2027.

Space Florida is the state’s aerospace finance and development authority with the mission of strengthening Florida’s position in aerospace commerce.

Rob Long, President and CEO of Space Florida, said they are excited to welcome the French pioneer in low-carbon aviation. He said, “AURA AERO’s expansion is a powerful signal of the momentum behind Florida’s advanced aerospace and electric mobility sectors. This project reflects our commitment to innovation, expanding aerospace commerce, and building a more connected future.”

AURA AERO selected Daytona Beach as its U.S. headquarters after entering a partnership with Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, and this hangar completion paves the way for the next project: a 500,000 square foot factory dedicated to its 19-seat hybrid-electric ERA aircraft.

Jérémy Caussade, CEO and Co-founder of AURA AERO said, “We are extremely grateful for the support of Space Florida and the State of Florida, without whom both these projects could not have happened. The delivery of our first US facility marks a major step for the company and we are truly excited to start operating it and keep moving forward with the second stage, the construction of our 19-seater factory.”

During his visit to AURA AERO’s exhibit at this year’s Paris Air Show, Ron DeSantis, Governor of Florida said, “We welcome AURA AERO as the latest French company to choose Florida to expand its business. A $200 million investment, this expansion will create over 1,000 high-wage jobs for Floridians and strengthen Florida’s leadership in aerospace innovation and advanced manufacturing.”
