Universal Flight Concepts Acquires 4 Tecnam Aircraft

Fleet Now At 32 Trainers With 24 More Planned Over Two Years

Tecnam Aircraft announced that Universal Flight Concepts has acquired four more Tecnam aircraft including two each of the P2008 LSA and P2010 models. This acquisition brings Universal’s Tecnam fleet to a total of 32, with plans to add an additional 24 over the next two years.

The company was founded in the 1980s by Dr. Gordon A. Jiroux, now CEO, and now operates a total of 70 aircraft including Tecnam airplanes as well as Robinson and Bell helicopters.

Universal Flight Concepts and its sister company Universal Helicopters train hundreds of students per year through its three FAA Part 141 schools at the Waco Airport (KACT) in Texas, Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) in Arizona, and Provo Airport (KPVU) in Utah. The Provo location is also an FAA Part 145 Repair Station and is the company’s Robinson dealership.

Dr. Jiroux, hc, said, “Quality, Safety and Timely performance by a manufacturer is number one on our priority list and TECNAM meets all of them each and every day!”

Walter Da Costa, Chief Sales Officer for Tecnam said, “We are honored by the continued trust placed in Tecnam by Universal Flight Concepts. Our shared dedication to safety, quality, and innovation makes this partnership a perfect fit. UFC’s expansion with Tecnam aircraft is a testament to their unwavering commitment to excellence in pilot training.”

Tecnam, based in Capua, Italy, has been making aircraft since 1948. The company operates two subsidiaries in Sebring, Florida, and Brisbane, Australia.
