Aero-TV: A Pilatus Aircraft Update - A Unique Kind of Aircraft Company

Pilatus Says Their PC-12 Single-Engine Turboprop Airplane Is “Recession Proof”…

While at the Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition (NBAA-BACE) held in November 2016, ANN CEO and Editor-In-Chief, Jim Campbell, talked with Tom Aniello, who is the Vice President of Marketing for Pilatus Business Aircraft. Jim is aware that the Pilatus PC-12 seems to be a product that has been around for quite a while and is still going strong. In this video you’ll hear why this is the case.

Aniello points out that Pilatus is an unusual company in that it’s located in Switzerland and is privately owned. He says they specialize in a niche market and you don’t have to look at their line of aircraft very long to realize that’s the case. The PC-12 was built with utility in mind, yet it has morphed in many different directions.

Aniello goes on explaining why they’re expecting a 25 percent growth in sales this coming year when other companies are working hard just to keep even. His explanation is a classic example of good business management setting a goal and keeping their sights on that goal. Aniello refers to the PC-12 as being, “recession proof.”

Aniello also points to their diversified market. They build aircraft for both the military and civilian market that are carefully designed to serve a foreseen purpose. While the discussion is interesting, the video of the aircraft in action is really fun to watch.
