Frasca Brings Mentor to AOPA, NBAA

Showing Off A NextGen Cockpit Sim

Frasca International will display its new "Mentor" flight training device during AOPA Expo (November 3-5, Tampa, FL in booth 1402 and at NBAA, November 9-11 in Orlando in booth 3066). The Mentor on display in the Frasca booths will feature Garmin G1000.

Frasca says its Mentor is a simulator capable of training pilots to fly integrated avionics systems such as the new Garmin G1000 or Avidyne Entegra as well as conventional instrumentation without investing in more advanced FTDs. While compact in size, the Mentor is a high quality simulator with an extensive features list and uses much of the same technology as Frasca’s high level FTDs and FFSs.

For smaller schools, Frasca says the Mentor can serve as the school’s only simulator and will provide high quality simulation for flight training.  Larger schools will find the Mentor performs best as Part Task Trainer complimenting Frasca's TruFlite and Level 6 Flight Training devices, according to a company statement. Such schools would use a mix of devices, Mentors for navigation training, the TruFlite for aircraft familiarization, VFR training, and more, and Level 6 FTD's which allow schools to expand simulator credit under part 142.

The Frasca Mentor includes an FAA approved flight data package, Jeppeson Nav data, full size flight controls including rudder pedals and brakes, conventional instrumentation or Garmin G1000 or Avidyne Entegra, Graphical Instructors Station (GISt), multi-channel sound simulation, and TruVision visual system with optional display systems.
