Security officials will finally get to hear directly from
pilots, airport managers, and others about the economic and
operational impacts of the Washington, D.C., Air Defense
Identification Zone (ADIZ).
FH1100 MANUFACTURING CORP. of Century, Florida has announced the
selection of the CHELTON FlightLogic Electronic Flight Instrument
System (EFIS) to be installed as standard equipment in all
model-year 2006 FH1100 helicopters.
AOPA filed comments this week opposing a proposed airworthiness
directive (AD) against certain Lycoming 360- and 540- series
engines that have ECi connecting rods installed. AOPA requested
that the FAA withdraw the AD and issue a special airworthiness
information bulletin.
Helicopter Anti-Submarine Squadron (Light) (HSL) 41 was the
first squadron to receive two of the Navy’s new MH-60R
Seahawk helicopters, Dec. 5. The MH-60R replaces the aging SH-60B
and SH-60F Seahawk helicopters, providing significant capabilities
and improvements to naval aviation.
FlightStats, a provider of real-time and historical flight
performance information, has released an on-time performance report
for the 30 busiest airports in the US. The data underscores the
need for travelers to make informed flight purchasing decisions to
reduce their travel frustrations.
The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) last week released two
proposed amendments to the Spill Prevention, Control and
Countermeasure (SPCC) rule, which are required at airports that
provide and store aircraft fuel.

security officials and the FAA will attend public meetings together
about airspace issues... The government will finally hear it from
the people in their own words."
