As DeLand’s Sport Aviation Village comes to life, DeLand Airport Manager John Eiff and Sport Aviation Administrator Jana Filip are busy planning DeLand’s first-ever Sport Aviation Showcase set for November 3-5, 2016. It’s being held immediately after the 2016 NBAA Convention in Orlando, Florida, to make it easy for industry and media to visit DeLand while they are already in the local area.

A 50-foot-tall high-power sport rocket carried payloads thousands of feet above Fort Carson Army Post today at the Student Rocket Launch. The Canadian Airports Council recently welcomed the announcement by Transport Minister Marc Garneau of $27.6 million in funding for 13 regional airports under the Airports Capital Assistance Program. Lockheed Martin and Korea Aerospace Industries successfully completed the initial test flight of its second T-50A configured aircraft in Sacheon, South Korea. The T-50A is the company&rsquo;s aircraft offering in the U.S. Air Force&rsquo;s Advanced Pilot Training (APT) competition.

Bell Helicopter has signed a letter of intent (LOI) with Mr. Rodrigo Gut&iacute;errez for a Bell 505 Jet Ranger X. The aircraft will be used for personal corporate transport.

Lockheed Martin plans to expand capabilities at its Astrotech Space Operations site in Titusville, Florida with the assistance of the North Brevard Economic Development Zone and the State of Florida. Future investments would help Lockheed Martin grow Astrotech Space Operations' capabilities and could add as many as 300 jobs to the site over the next four years.

Aireon LLC announced today that it has signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) with the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) in Myanmar. Pratt &amp; Whitney has signed a deal for PW1100G-JM and V2500 engines to power up to 32 A320 family aircraft with an undisclosed leasing company. The PW1100G-JM engine is offered by Pratt &amp; Whitney. The V2500 engine is offered through IAE International Aero Engines AG.

Vector Space Systems, a micro satellite space launch company comprised of new-space industry veterans from SpaceX, Virgin Galactic, McDonnell Douglas and Sea Launch, today announced it has finalized the acquisition of Garvey Spacecraft Corporation.
