CAP Cadet's Flag Raising Ceremony Kicks Off Runway Cafe's Grand Opening

Flying Through South Carolina? Here's A New Place To Take A Break

Wednesday afternoon a 1730, the Cadet Color Guard from the Greenville Civil Air Patrol will do a flag raising ceremony at the new Runway Café at South Carolina's Greenville Downtown Airport (KGMU). "Our Cadets range from 12 to 18 years old, who have an interest in aviation and search and rescue operations as well as a tremendous amount of pride in this nation," stated Ron Hardgrave, Honor Guard co-ordinator.

"These young cadets take pride in their role as members of the Colors unit and they consider it an honor to raise the flag for the first time at the Runway Cafe during this ceremony," added Hardgrave.

"Come check out the new Runway Café, watch the ceremony and, if you like, stay for dinner!," invited Lem Winesett, Part Owner in the Runway Cafe.

The Runway Café is located at 21 Airport Road Extension in Greenville, SC. KGMU is the busiest general aviation airport in South Carolina and is a self-sufficient entity with financial strength that doesn't rely on local taxpayers for funding.  The airport is home to more than 25 aviation-related businesses creating 453 jobs that annually contribute more than $35.2 million to the Upstate economy.
