Northern Indiana Company Expands To Fourth Airport
Sweet Aviation is assuming control as the Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at Goshen Municipal Airport (KGSH) in Goshen, Indiana. The Goshen Board of Aviation Commissioners approved Sweet’s request to take over the contract held since 1992 by Goshen Air Center.
The founder of Goshen Air Center, Randy Sharkey, will remain in his position as the current manager of the airport. Sweet will offer line service, fueling, maintenance, and charter services beginning in September, and the company will now provide services at four northern Indiana airports to include Fort Wayne International Airport (KFWA), Smith Field Airport (KSMD), and DeKalb County Airport (KGWB).
Sweet Aviation is part of Surack Enterprises that includes Sweet Helicopters, Enstrom Helicopter Corporation, and Aviation Specialty Insurance. In addition to FBO services, Sweet offers a broad range of aviation specialties including aerobatic rides, ground school courses, flight training, aircraft rental, charter flights, and maintenance and aircraft detailing.
Chuck Surack, owner and founder of Sweet Aviation and Surack Enterprises said, “I am so grateful to be able to welcome Goshen Municipal Airport into the Sweet Aviation family. Goshen Air Center is a great success story with a solid foundation.”
Surack is well-known in aviation circles in northern Indiana, having purchased a hangar for Sweet Helicopters for service to and from Notre Dame University and the Chicago area. His expansion to GSH will bolster the airport’s economic impact with expanded hours for both the terminal and line service for GA aircraft and owners.
