Pilot In PA Fatally Injured By Rotor Blade

Accident Occurred At County Fair

A helicopter pilot reported to have over 50 years’ experience was struck and fatally injured by the turning rotor of a helo during at the Columbia County Fair in Bloomsburg, PA Friday.

The pilot, 69-year-old Carl Enlow of Reading, PA, had been a military pilot, according to a report appearing on PAhomepage.com. The aircraft had landed to refuel and change pilots, and a representative of the Bloomsburg Fair Association said that Enlow had gone to talk to the other pilot when he was injured.

The company that owns the helicopter, Heritage Rotors, has been a staple and the county fair since 1993 selling rides to people as an attraction and splitting the profits with the Fair Association.

The Fair Association is reportedly donating its profits from this year's helicopter rides to Enlow's widow.

Enlow was flown to Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, PA, where he was declared dead.
