China Approves G1000 In Piper Archer Airplanes

CAAC Issues Amended Type Certificate For The Glass Panel

Piper Aircraft, Inc. has received an amendment to the Validation of its Type Certificate issued by the Civil Aviation Administration of China (CAAC) for the addition of Garmin G1000 avionics in the Archer training TX/LX aircraft. The approval was made by CAAC on December 21, 2015.

“CAAC’s approval of G1000 in the Archer is exceptionally exciting news for Piper and prospective customers in China,” said Piper President and CEO Simon Caldecott. “Our Chinese customers now have the ability to take advantage of the most current and advanced avionics in the cockpit, keeping with Piper’s continued commitment to safety, reliability, and value.”

With this new certification approval, the Archer G1000 joins the already approved and widely used twin-engine Seminole, offering Chinese flight schools the option of a complete advanced training fleet of common Piper products for single and multi-engine aircraft requirements.

Presently, five flight schools in China utilize the Seminole, with anticipated delivery to an additional school in April of this year. Archer deliveries are expected to increase in the coming year, as well.
