Cropduster Has 60% Of Brazilian Agricultural Market

Embraer celebrated the delivery of the 1,700th Ipanema cropduster worldwide. The aircraft gained typed certification in 2015 and is currently in the EMB-203 version. It is a sales leader in Brazil with 60% of the domestic market.

This particular aircraft will be deployed for spraying various crops by a customer in Imperatriz, Maranhão.

Sany Onofre, Leader of Embraer's Agricultural Aviation said, "The delivery of unit 1,700 represents an important milestone in the history of this aircraft, which is synonymous with high productivity, efficiency, low operating cost and sustainability in the sector. We are extremely proud to see how Ipanema continues to contribute strongly to the development of the agricultural sector over the years."

Embraer has sold more than 180 of the aircraft in the last three years and it continues to be preferred by rural producers because it offers a wide range of equipment to boost productivity and precision.

The aircraft is powered by ethanol and provides an efficiency equivalent to four large ground sprayers, covering more than 200 hectares per hour. It does this without disturbing the soil or spreading pests by contact and generates a result of 15 additional bags of product per hectare.

Embraer has been very active in promoting safety, with an extensive agenda dealing with topics such as preventive inspections, a safe environment, and good practices for pilots, mechanics, and operators. All of the agricultural pilot training classes include a lecture from the Ipanema customer support team to ensure that a strong safety culture is instilled from the start of agricultural pilot training.
