Coast Guard Rescues Three From Galveston Bay

Dolphin To The Rescue!

The Coast Guard recently rescued three people from Galveston Bay, TX, just weeks after crews were called out to assist an injured fisherman 130 miles south of the Texas gulf coast city.

A watchstander at Coast Guard Sector Houston/Galveston received a call for assistance from a boater approximately 10 miles east of Kemah, TX.

The boater reported that he had recovered a man from the water in need of immediate medical attention.

Coast Guard Air Station Houston launched an HH-65C Dolphin helicopter crew to medevac the man.

The helicopter crew arrived on scene, hoisted the man and transported him to the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston where he was reported in critical condition.

A boater located the medevaced man's boat with a woman still on board.

A second boater rescued a woman from the water near where the man was found. The women were taken to Kemah and were reported in good condition.
