EAA AirVenture Oshkosh Dates Set Through 2020

2014 Edition Of ‘World’s Greatest Aviation Celebration” Set For July 28-August 3

We know ... we all just got home, or so it seems. But looking forward, EAA AirVenture Oshkosh has set its dates for the next seven years through 2020.

While the 62nd annual EAA fly-in convention at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, WI, will be held on July 28-August 3, future years will schedule the event to run completely in late July. That slight schedule shift affects only three or four years out of every seven, with a goal of ending on the last Sunday in July each year.

“We realize that the dates of EAA AirVenture affect yearly schedules for the entire aviation community as well as events throughout the Wisconsin and the Midwest, so we want to secure these future dates to minimize conflicts,” said Rick Larsen, EAA’s vice president of marketing. “In talking with and receiving feedback from thousands of EAA members, other attendees, exhibitors and others involved with the event, there are an increasing number of factors – including earlier school-year starts in many states outside Wisconsin – that are affecting schedules for national events in August such as AirVenture.”

The dates for EAA AirVenture Oshkosh through 2020 are:

  • 2014: July 28-August 3
  • 2015: July 20-26*
  • 2016: July 25-31
  • 2017: July 24-30
  • 2018: July 23-29
  • 2019: July 22-28*
  • 2020: July 20-26*

(*-change from previous schedule format)

“We kept the 2014 dates as originally stated, since many aviators have already been looking ahead at reserving the dates, which has a ripple effect for accommodations, community schedules, exhibitor planning and many other areas that are associated with AirVenture each year,” Larsen said.

Planning has already begun for EAA AirVenture 2014. Specific highlights and activities will be announced as they are finalized.
